    Former student Ming Chen (Irene) published a paper in IInternational Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health! It is Irene's first publication as a lead author. Our article was titled, "

    Culture-specific parenting practices and adolescents’ adjustment in Hong Kong: The mediating role of self-esteem."

    Former undergrad RA Longman Chan, Prof. Kevin Chung,
    and Rebecca gave a talk at the Research Conference on Child Development: The role of Family and School Practices, The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong! Our talk was titled, "The role of trivariate mother-father-adolescent emotion dysregulation in adolescents’ internalizing problems."

    Current student Ming (Irene) Chen presented our poster at the Conference for Research in Early Childhood Education, EdUHK, Hong Kong. Our poster was titled,
    "Behavioral adjustment among Chinese preschool-aged children: The roles of emotional security and socioeconomic disadvantage." Congrats Irene!

    Former student Teresa Lee, current student Ming (Irene) Chen, and Rebecca published a paper in Psychology in the Schools! It is Teresa's and Irene's very first publication in an academic journal. Our article was titled, "Pre-service teachers' self-efficacy in managing students with symptoms of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: The roles of diagnostic label and students’ gender." The paper can be found here [link].

    Former student Alvin Chung presented our poster at the 13th International Conference on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Our poster was titled, "
    Can expressive writing enhance well-being and general health in the Chinese context?
    This was his first conference attendance ever!
     

  • July 25
    Former student / research assistant Menchie Leung and Rebecca published a paper in the Psychology of Music! It is Menchie's very first publication in an academic journal. Our article was titled, "Music engagement and well-being in Chinese adolescents: Emotional awareness, positive emotions, and negative emotions as mediating processes."     Rebecca presented our poster at the 29th International Congress of Applied Psychology, Montreal, QC, Canada. Our poster was titled, "Effects of expressive writing on emotion regulation and depressive symptoms among Chinese emerging adults."

    Rebecca presented our poster at the 29th International Congress of Applied Psychology, Montreal, QC, Canada. Our poster was titled, "Emotion dysregulation in the family: Trivariate effects among mothers, fathers, and adolescents."

Our poster was titled, "Pre-service teachers' self-efficacy in classroom inclusion involving children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: Roles of children’s gender and diagnostic label.This was Irene's first presentation ever!

    Former summer intern Carina Tsang presented our poster at the 125th American Psychological Association Annual Convention in Washington, DC. Our poster was titled "Unpacking the Relation between Conscientiousness and Adult Attachment among Chinese College Students.

     

  • July 7
    Former student / research assistant Menchie Leung presented our paper at
    15th World Congress of Music Therapy, Epochal Tsukuba, Japan. Our talk was titled "Music Listening and Psychological Well-Being among Early Adolescents in Hong Kong." This was her first paper presentation ever!

    Former student helper Longman Chan presented our poster at the 29th Association for Psychological Science Annual Convention in Boston, MA. Our poster was titled "Family Contagion of Emotion Regulation : Effects of Parents’ Mental Health on Adolescent Functioning and Well-Being."
